My Internet Connection Sucks with Globelines Broadband

Posted by anyinput on May 15, 2008

Since the day I started to offer services in the cyberspace helping those who are in need of my services, promoting sites to any search engine and letting people know that anyinput.com and anyassets.com sites, I was not satisfied of the Internet Service Provider (ISP) where I connect my computer to the internet. Why did I said these against my ISP? Here is my story:

Our subdivision, a prominent and classy subdivision, is an exclusive subscriber to the Globelines Broadband, wow, what a wonderful agreement between the two, at least Globelines Broadband is secured that they are the only provider inside it. And no other broadband is allowed by that subdivision to put up internet cabinet facility inside it. So there’s nothing I can do but to subscribe to Globelines Broadband, a week later, my hellish life begun, my connection is not stable, it connects for a day, then disconnects for about one week, how’s that? I tried to call the customer service representative but all they can say is “Sorry for the inconvenience, Sir. I will make a report regarding this instance”. Wow, what a compliment, do this lines makes my connection stable and back to the operation? Of course, not! I have been to three months on this ISP but the service is still the same. The same old, old story. My sentiment is that why is this exclusive subdivision permits to operate exclusive only for this ISP? Where in fact, they cannot hold on to their promise to provide their customers with a high speed, stable and better internet connection? My ISP really sucks. Well, I live in Iloilo City, Panay Island, Philippines, I am not really recommending this ISP to any of my friends, and I will try to talk to the manager of that exclusive subdivision to let other ISP do business in our location.

My work on the cyberspace is really affected with this kind of services they offer, its been a week exactly today that I don’t have the connection. I am losing dollars every day because of them.

Please advise me with what else should I going to do with Globelines Broadband.

Globelines does suck here in San Juan, Metro Manila. Ever since my Siemens Speedstream dsl modem died and changed it to this brand new shitbox Prolink Hurricane 5200. I have been experiencing selective websurfing since July 12, 2008. Today its already Aug. 10, 2008. I got tired of calling them everyday. However I am going to give them a mouthfull again.

If any geek knows what this Error Message says in Diagnostics pls. let me know:
Test ATM OAM F4 End-to-end Loopback FAIL

That error message appeared and life has been miserable. The tech support dont know shit when I mention it. The funny thing is I can use Skype and YM. Play online FPS games Urban Terror without any problem with my connection. It just wont let me visit my Google News page today, I can visit Engadget but not Gizmodo. WTF?

i have a globelines 3mb line and i cant remember going 24 hours with a good connection. i have had the service for 10 months now and lately during the weekdays 5 pm to 11 pm its terrible, today is the weekend and again very poor connection. 1800 ms ping latency, 300 kb download 40 kb uploads on globelines premium internet line. How can a company get away with not providing what they are being paid for?

right you are guys, globelines broadband is really losing it, my connection is really inconsistent, sometimes we have and most of the time we don’t. Whenever I call their tech support line, I’ll them all info before even the tsr can ask them, like landline #, name and location, and ask them if they are having another “system enhancement” coz that what they always tell me. I know shit happens but this is really is SHIT!!! (sorry for the word guys but this really upsets me…)

Well it’s not just in your area. Here in Cebu FUCKIN RETARDS even billed us 15k in misplaced phone bills. Our regular bill is just about 1.5-2k. They said it was just a technical error and the fucks disconnected us oh and they didn’t hesitate of reminding us of our bill. If you are fond of torrents don’t get globe they limit your speed. I got 200+Kb/s because of the 2000+ seeders then it shrunk to 5kb/s. Also when I had 70-100kb/s they would shrink it to 30-50kb/s. i have an original trend micro antivirus and they said it was my computers fault that the connection is slow because of viruses. They advertise “lakas talaga ng globe” but in reality it’s “Ang lakas talaga ng globe mag lag”. Save the headaches, crappy tech support, insulting technicians and frustrating down time just get PLDT. Which I’m hoping for. Sadly I have to put up with globe until they expand to my area…..

  5. anyinput said

Really? They are trimming down the speed when go download some torrent files? Oh that’s bad. Well, I am always do an inquiry from the customer service representative, and all I got as their answer is “Sorry Sir, we are currently having a network restoration in your area”, wow if I would write this excuses, it could have been a rim of bond paper, that’s 8pt font size. Well, answered back and I said, “since the day I subscribed in your service, I have not heard any good news but this”. Are their technicians no good than a dumb non-educated people? Well, I guess so. Now, even I have received a lot rebates from them because of their service, it won’t change my impression regarding their performance. And take note, my Globelines landline is not working well. That’s the bonus I got from them, go figure it out.

Anyway, here are the list of the connection I applied to and take note of my comments for each.

All i can say is globelines better hope sky cable does not offer service in bacolod or they will lose all their business.
The problem is not that there are only a few broadband internet providers, the problem is that none of them deliver a stable or reliable connection. Now how is it in a city like bacolod there is a choice between 2 providers PLDT and Globelines but as everyone knows neither internet provider will provide a stable connection. Now if there was some government agency who’s job it was to monitor the isp’s (internet services providers) handle complaints from customers and had the power to fine them and stop them from signing up more customers until they fixed their problems then some progress could be made.
It appears to me that the isp’s spend their money on advertising to get more customers instead upgrading their systems or tech’s.
I suspect there is a government agency that is supposed to protect customers from the isp companies but for some reason they don’t seem to be involved or motivated to do their jobs, i really wonder why that is.
When you call the repair number you still hear the same “we are doing system restoration” I don’t remember globelines telling me that i would have a unstable connection for the entire year because they would be doing system restoration the whole time before signing me up.

  7. ktd said

A more realistic description of Globelines DSL service.
Get Globelines dsl and surf the internet once in a while at speeds you are paying for, that is assuming we are not having one of our numerous system outages.
As a subscriber you can surf most of the internet but you need to be prepared for 20 to 50% of the sites you are trying to access to experience network time outs as we are having what appears to be a permanent problem with our DSN (Domain Name Servers)but as always, we resolve all problems within 24 to 48 hours because we have a system restoration that never ends.
If your problem persists past the 24 to 48 hours then allow 3 or 4 days and see if the problem fixes itself by magic. If you are still having problems feel free to call us again we will send a tech out to your house again to fix the problem within 24 to 48 hours.

Same here. my problem is that my neighbor and i happens to have the same connection.(globelines broadband 1mb) and that her connection speed is better or faster than mine.what gives?

Here in Davao City, Mintal, Catalunan Grande Elenita Heights Globe Broadband connections are very poor. Sometimes if there is a connection very slow must of the time no connections every time you call their Customer Service they will give you the same answer “Sorry we are having system restoration in your area wait…” They are fooling their customer. That’s why I discourage my neighbor and my office mate to subscribe to them, i don’t want them to be victimized by this kind of services they have.

Damn, I was searching for globelines reviews and stumbled upon this site. I was planning to change my ISP because it sucked too. but now i dont know lol. Stay w/ smartbro or take chances w/ globelines. Im not looking for the best ISP, just the one w/ lesser headaches and bullshit.

I worked on a webhosting company and we used Globe as our backbone towards our international office(corporate line), and every time connection problem arise one of their engineers goes to our office and never leave until the problem is solved, by the way we are paying $2500(dollars) per month for 1 T1 line, so I was thinking they have the same service on a regular, home plan, they proved me wrong.

I signed up for their Php1995 at 2Mbps speed, I first worst experience with them was last October 2008, I keep on calling their technical support and guess what they just ask for your phone number, your location and your name and that it, never expect that you will get any help from them. Back to the October issue, my internet connection, phoneline was down from September to October 2008, you see it right 1 DAMN month, thats the first havoc they did to me. Here comes the next big, worst havoc from Globe. The problem started April 30, 2009, my internet connection became so unstable that I can only surf for an hour and the connection gets dropped, its time to call their stupid, idiots Technical Support. Once again they asked me for my number, my location and my name, this is really ridiculous, Ive given my info as expected and heres the Technical Support Representative telling me that there is a network restoration that is going on on my area, I can tolerate a week of network restoration but almost a month of network restoration? Hell not, what kind of network engineers do they have? DUMB one? IDIOTS? LAMERS? name it thats Globe. After being pissed with all the Technical Support whining spiels I then asked for a supervisor, and here comes a lady named “Julianne Gomban”, she told me to escalate the issue, but after that first talk with the “supervisor” I never get to talk to her anymore? Everytime I asked for her Technical Support will say that shes out, thats shes on another call. THIS IS WAY TOO RIDICULOUS.

As a person who has knowledge on data networks, I asked one of the on site technician on what kind of facility do I belong, he told me “MSAN po sir”, I told the on site technician is that the facility that sucks ass big time? He replied yes sir.

I then called back Technical Support to move me to DLC facility which is a better facility, and they told me that it wont be moved easily, I mean what the heck? I paid you guys and Im a customer and I deserve the right to request for anything just to get your service back.

Just to make this rant short, NEVER SIGN UP WITH GLOBE BROADBAND, THEY ARE THE WORST ISP EVER. FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE, TO SERVICE DELIVERY UPTIME, THEY ARE WORST.

TO ALL GLOBE MANAGEMENT, TRY TO REBUILD WHAT PROCESS YOU HAVE RIGHT NOW, IT SUCKS BIG TIME.

I just hope somebody from globe reads this. I have been putting up with their lousy service for 2 years because of not having an alternative. Its just so frustrating paying their monthly fees and getting a lousy connection. I hope PLDT expands to my area and then rakes the market that globe continues to frustrate.
I got nothing but reports and visits from techs who solves the problem which then occurs after a week.

I just signed up for Globe Broadband plan 995 that’s 1mbps plan. At first I was so happy because the result of my speedtest was superb! I get excited and start doing my thing right away, I posted a lot in my blog, downloaded animes and play my favorite online game. Today is just the third day of my connection and I’m already complaining. I can’t play my favorite online game anymore, can’t post a thing in my blog and can’t download anime, what the hell will be the use of this internet for me now!? I tried to contact one of the person who installed the kit in our house and he told me to call the hotline. But from what I’ve read here in this site and also from the other sites, I guess calling them will be useless that’s why I’m planning on going to their office tomorrow, I’m in Naga City and I’m really going to hunt them down! GLOBE SUCKS!

    I’m also a victim :( And I thought Smart Bro sucks…
I’m subscribed to their 2M plan, but I could say that I was never able to get speed close to that, not even half. Most of the time, the internet sites would timeout!!!
Not a week have past that I have not encountered an issue… and yes, they’ll give the “restoration” BS everytime.
Smart bro may be slow, but globelines have surpassed the number of issues I had with smart for years, within months only. An I’m paying 2,000 monthly for their damn service!

Is there a way that a mass suit be filed against this company? They shouldn’t even tie you up for 1year given the service that they have, and you’re not getting what you are paying for. Maybe they’ll do something major about it if they get shaken up a bit by NTC or whoever can help improve standards set by these ISP’s.

Test ATM OAM F4 End-to-end Loopback FAIL means you have a solid dsl light but you wont be able to reach the part where the pppoe verifies your user name and password. try to remove the dsl filter that you have and directly connect your Rj11 from your internet modem to the phone socket on the wall.. see if that helps. I already contacted globe regarding the matter. I also work in a call center so I know how hard it is for the agents to be yelled at given the fact that they can’t do anything about their system. they would want to help us to the best of their ability but they’re tools are limited. courtesy of globe’s infrastructure itself…

Already did… Even the Customer Service Representatives are also confirming that it has to do with the connection from Globe specifically from Cebu. So you don’t need to defend this lousy ISP.

DON’T EVER SUBSCRIBE TO GLOBELINES DSL!
-That is if you don’t want to experience having no Internet FOR DAYS.
-Sometimes they fix your Internet and will only last for 2 days.
-if there is a rain, you will not have internet again and it will last FOR DAYS.
-it goes like this: internet connection on for 2 days, then internet connection OFF for 5 days, then on again for 1 day and OFF for 7 days, and so on and so forth.
-ALL people in INNOVE are INCOMPETENT FOOLS together with the contractors that they hire.
-most of the “management types” that you may encounter in INNOVE are INCOMPETENT, ASSHOLE, RING TAPPERS!
-RING TAPPERS –> Definition: Ring Tappers are so called for the annoying habit of many of them spending too much time pointing out that they graduated from [insert elite sounding school here] and not enough time demonstrating the skills they (supposedly) learned there. Specifically refers to the practice of tapping the school/college/university grad ring against stuff, as if by idle habit, in order to draw attention to it.

    Hello all,
I am hoping that you will be able to help me choose a better DSL provider. My sister lives in Iloilo city and so far she only knows two providers: PLDT and Globe. Since 99% of you gave negative comments on Globe, and my sister doesn’t like PLDT either, is there any other provider aside from these two?
Thank you very much. I gladly appreciate your help. Please email me @ simply_sandy929@yahoo.com.
And thank you all for blogging your comments about Globe here. I become an educated customer today:-).

There are 4 major ISPs in Iloilo City and they are : SmartBro, PLDT, Globelines and BayanTel. I guess, each one of them has their own advantage and disadvantages. But the quickest ISP to install within the city is the SmartBro…

how i wish to read your messages first before subscribing to this “globe broad-BAN”. YEAH, that spelling best describe the feeling of their subscriber. as a matter of fact i tried installing smart first but unfortunately no signal was available for our place. that leaves me without a choice but to let this broadband gives me a bad hair day….

im pretty sure that they are aware of whats going on with their services but it seems that they are not doing anything to make it worth the payment. The 999 plan was unlimited…UNLIMITED IN CLICKING THE “TRY AGAIN” POP UP.

The globe are getting the payments in due time, just hoping that they pay back the services needed by the subscriber.

GOSHHH!! I can’t find the best words to describe how this broadband mess me up..

It’s true. Globelines really sucks. It’s been a month since I called them about my little download/ upload problem and nothing happens. I get a heart-breaking 44kb download speed and a painful 10kb upload speed in full power, and 70% of the time, I get a heart-shattering 4 KB per second download speed, and an incredibly embarrassing upload speed. “I’ve waited for a month just for this?!” I said to the poor little nerd on the line, then I slammed the phone down. They lied to us with their fancy fast internet connection scam.

Oh, and, before I switched to Globe (I had to switch my connection ’cause I was moving houses with my cousin and stuff like that), life was great with PLDT, they gave me something sweet in return for my cold, hard cash: A cool 3MB per second download speed AAAAAND what’s more, I didn’t have to wait for 30 minutes just to load up 5 minutes of video on YouTube.
